Goulburn Mulwaree Council is ramping up inspections of parking zones around the Goulburn Base Hospital, to kerb issues with overstaying due to construction of the new hospital.

Council staff will be conducting patrols for three hours per day over the next two weeks, with a strong focus on areas within 10 metres of an intersection. “It has been an ongoing issue during construction of the new hospital, and we want to ensure our residents, users of the hospital and the businesses around the precinct aren’t unfairly inconvenienced” said Mayor Bob Kirk.

“The project itself has been running very smoothly and we are excited to see it completed, however we do need to see everyone, including contractors, abiding by the parking restrictions.”

Council first implemented changes to parking restrictions in the precinct in January 2020 to coincide with the beginning of construction, with these being altered slightly in October last year.
