How to Knit a Simple, Adult-Sized Scarf

This free pattern for a simple ribbed, fringed scarf comes from Patons, a well-known wool supplier.

Requirements:
Four balls of wool (Pictured scarf is made out of “Patons Denimy” wool in Lemon Curry Denim (96620)) and one pair of 5.5 mm knitting needles.

Measurements:
Approx 18 x 203 cm, excluding fringe. Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm in stocking stitch

Instructions:
• Cast on 31 sts
• 1st row: Knit 2 stitches (K2) then purl 2 stitches (P2) to last 3 sts, then K2. P1.
• Rep 1st row until work from beginning measures 203 cm.
• Cast off.
• Fringe: Cut lengths of yarn 40.5 cm long. Taking 3 strands together, fold in half and knot into fringe evenly across scarf ends. Trim fringe even.
