Funding applications are now open to build new and improved inclusive playgrounds, with $5 million available for communities across NSW.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman, said the NSW Government had expanded the successful $15 million Everyone Can Play program to ensure more people can enjoy improved public parks.

“We’re committed to creating play spaces everyone can enjoy,” Mrs Tuckerman said, “So I encourage all local Councils to apply for projects to build or improve play spaces in our local area, so they are accessible for people of all ages and abilities.”

The following councils have been awarded funding in previous rounds:

  • Wingecarribee Shire Council - Moss Vale’s Church Road $74,000 and Seymour Park $200,000
  • Goulburn Mulwaree Council – Goulburn’s Riverside Park $200,000
  • Upper Lachlan Shire Council – Crookwell’s Coleman Park $300,000

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Rob Stokes explained this is the fourth and final round of grants under the Everyone Can Play program. “This $15 million program has already delivered 108 new or improved accessible play spaces throughout NSW since 2018,” Mr Stokes said.

“It is a very popular program that councils have embraced wholeheartedly. It is an important way that we are working towards achieving the Premier’s Priority to increase access to quality public space across the state.”

Applications close on 25 June 2021. Apply at: www.openspace.smartygrants.com.au/EveryoneCanPlay20202021
