Students in the Goulburn electorate are benefitting from the Liberals & Nationals Government’s $337 million tuition program.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the program is helping teachers and principals support student learning after the pandemic.

“The feedback from schools is that they are ecstatic to have this extra support,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

“It is great to hear plenty of extra educators are helping out to ensure students benefit from the program as soon as possible.”

Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said more than 3960 educators were already on in place at 1755 schools. The vast majority are retired or casual teachers, supplemented by university educator students and university tutors.

“This additional support is tailored by the school, using both the data from last year’s Check-in Assessments and the knowledge of classroom teachers,” Ms Mitchell said.

“Having tailored models of support allows schools to be flexible so students can catch up in any areas where they’ve been struggling.”

Registrations are still open to educators who are interested in taking part at https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/curriculum/covid-learning-support-program

Existing Department of Education staff should apply through ClassCover.
